Rachel Joins Avenue Q
Pop Singer and recording artist Rachel Alejandro joins the Manila cast of AVENUE Q where she will play the dual roles of Kate Monster and Lucy The Slut. Rachel has been a fan of AVENUE Q since it opened on Broadway and won 4 Tony Awards including Best Musical. She says, "I fell in love with AVENUE Q when I saw it on Broadway. It's hard not to love! It made me laugh so much my cheeks hurt!"



Rachel was last seen on stage also with Atlantis Productions as Mimi in the Singapore and Manila run of RENT. She says of her second time around with Atlantis, "I'm excited to work with Atlantis again. If this is even half as fun as my experience doing RENT in 2001, then it's sure to be one of the best times of my life!"

Rachel returns home in July to begin puppetry workshops and rehearsals for AVENUE Q which opens on August 17th at the Meralco Theatre.

Rachel answered some questions

Q: Your most marked characteristic?
RACHEL:I'd like to think it's my love for adventure. I always say that life is short and I try to make every moment of it extraordinary.
Q: The quality you most like in a man?
RACHEL: A great sense of humor
Q: The quality you most like in a woman?
RACHEL: Kindness...and everything that is Angelina Jolie. I loooove her.
Q:What do you most value in your friends?
RACHEL: I have a great need to feel understood and that's what my friends give me.
Q: What is your principle defect?
RACHEL: People who don't know me tend to find me aloof or snobbish. It wouldn't be a problem to me if I were not in Philippine showbusiness where it's more important to be liked on a personal level than to be talented.
Q:What is your favorite occupation?
RACHEL: I think being a singer/actor is the best job in the world. It's so much fun to dress up and pretend to be someone else. It's an amazing feeling to make an audience laugh and cry with you.
Q: What is your dream of happiness?
RACHEL: When I think of happiness I think of white sand and clear blue water. My ultimate dream is to have an island of my own.
Q: What would you like to be?
RACHEL: I would love to be an international recording star.
Q: What is your favorite color?
RACHEL: Lavander

RACHEL: Violets

RACHEL: Sea gull

RACHEL: The Vampire Lestat of the Vampire Chronicles
Q: What is your present state of mind?
RACHEL: In dire need of direction and clarity. So many things I want to do but I feel there isn't enough time to do all of them and unsure what I should be prioritizing.
Q: To what faults do you feel most indulgent?
RACHEL: I lack self control when it comes to food especially when I'm on an extended trip like this one. i have been on the road since early December. i miss having my food delivered from my business, "The Sexy Chef" and knowing that I'm eating fresh and healthy.

RACHEL: Measure your life in love.
