ATLANTIS ANNOUNCES 2008 SEASON |

Atlantis Productions, fresh from the recent successes of AVENUE Q and DOGEATERS, is gearing up for an exciting
2008 Season.
In June, Atlantis will be restaging the hit musical AVENUE Q one last time in Manila. The flawed but loveable people and puppets of
Avenue Q help Princeton search for his purpose in life while learning about racism, schadenfreude and internet porn. Billed as "THE
FAREWELL RUN," the second repeat of AVENUE Q will have a limited run at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati from
June 13 - 22, 2008. Due to mature subject matter, AVENUE Q is not recommended for children.
In November, Atlantis proudly brings to Manila the Tony Award winning musical HAIRSPRAY. Winner of 8 Tony Awards including Best
Musical, HAIRSPRAY features an original score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Their songs take Tracy, a big girl with big hair
and an even bigger heart, from the soundstage of a 60's-style dance show to the streets of Baltimore to a downtown rhythm and blues
record shop as she tries to integrate a television show without denting her 'do! Hairspray has also become a hit movie musical
starring John Travolta, Zach Efron, Queen Latifah and Michelle Pfeiffer. HAIRSPRAY will play at the STAR THEATRE in the CCP
Complex.
Atlantis Productions’ creative head Bobby Garcia says, "We are thrilled to bring AVENUE Q back to Manila one last time. After
the repeat last December we were still getting a lot of phone calls from people who didn’t get to see it. But this will be
the final run for AVENUE Q in Manila, so please get your tickets early! We are also excited to have secured the rights to
HAIRSPRAY, a musical I fell in love with when I first saw it. It’s a fun and inspiring show filled with great songs."
Atlantis has also secured the license to the Tony Award winning musical THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE which it will
stage along with 2 other musicals in 2009 as part of it’s 10th Anniversary season.
